1 Timothy 6:10
For the love of money is the root of all evil:
which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith,
and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
...for riches are a burden...
There is a burden of care in getting riches,
fear in keeping them,
temptation in using them,
guilt in abusing them,
sorrow in losing them,
and a burden of account at last to be given up about them.

Proverbs 30:8-9
Remove far from me vanity and lies:
give me neither poverty nor riches;
feed me with food convenient for me:
Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD?
or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.
